Tynga’s Reviews is a blog I’ve always loved and now she is starting this kick-ass meme, so I figured I’d go ahead and try it out.
Review
Like any sensible girl, Cassie tries to avoid vampires. But when the bloodsucking Mafioso she escaped three years ago finds Cassie again with revenge in mind, she's forced to turn to the vampire Senate for protection. The undead senators won't help her for nothing, and Cassie finds herself working with one of their most powerful members, a dangerously seductive master vampire- and the price he demands may be more than Cassie is willing to pay
Why Rie chose Touch the Dark:
This is the best book in the Cassandra Palmer series and this was one of the books that introduced me to the paranormal genre. A mix of supernatural entities, but my favorite has to be the cowboy ghost.
Pabkins' Pick - Sabriel by Garth Nix
Since childhood, Sabriel has lived outside the walls of the Old Kingdom, away from the power of Free Magic and the Dead who refuse to stay dead. With her father missing, Sabriel must cross into that world to find him. There she confronts an evil that threatens much more than her life--and comes face-to-face with her own hidden destiny. An ALA Notable Book. An ALA Best Book for Young Adults.
Why Pabkins chose Sabriel:
This is some of the best YA fantasy I have read. - It is definitely one of my favorite in the YA fantasy genre. It is not UF. I love the characters, the story line and the magic system. It sucked me in and I read the entire Trilogy within 3 days. Oh yes, and also has a cat in it - and ya'll know how I love cats!
Essentially, we are two sides of the same coin. We both love to read but have tastes that range to such opposite ends of the Fiction spectrum! Rie our blonde haired smoothie perhaps is the light and lovey side of us, Pabkins the chocolate haired one brings us the darker delights.
