What is NaNoWriMo? (not an angry robot in case you’re asking)

So it’s the month of November. A month of turkeys and early Christmas shopping. Day one, and I was already hyped up after all the Halloween candy, which I deserved after lugging a few cuties of 8-year-olds house to house. It’s also no shave November, luckily this doesn’t apply to us women.

But there’s one more very important event in November. That is NaNoWriMo, which stands for National November Writing Month. Your goal? Write a 50,000 word novel by November 30. Sounds intimidating right? Even if this happens to be my third year, I still feel like I’m locked up in a room with the president.

Don’t run away screaming just yet though. NaNoWriMo is definitely worth it and fun.

If you’re looking for some motivation for a work in progress, this is it. This is writing frenzy. Remember, most participants are probably all novice writers. You’re writing just for the fun of it. Plus, it’s inevitable that you’ll eventually come across some pretty interesting people, especially in the forums. They come in pretty handy while procrastinating. On a related note, I should probably be working on my novel instead of writing this post.

It’s not too late to sign up!
And add me as a buddy, too.

NaNoWriMo sounds crazy! haha but fun. :P

I might try to participate next year, depending on my school schedule. We'll see! I'm not sure what I would write a novel about, but maybe I can spend the rest of this month brainstorming or something.

  3. I've added you (Barmy_Bex)
I restarted with a different novel yesterday so am well behind on my word count. Hoping to catch up tonight. :D

  4. That's what weekends are for! Plus the extra hour helps too. Good luck!

  5. I wasn't sure either. I think mine was more random babbling than actual literature. :)
I hope to see you next year!
