This week's question:
Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?
Answer:
Paranormal YA and adult obviously, but more directly mythology related paranormal. You’ll see much more of my obsession with this next month when I co-host the Midnight Summer Festival where we will have many giveaways and authors stopping by of mythological novels such as Tempest Rising, Darkness Becomes Her, Sweet Venom, and Sirenz.
This week’s question:
What are some of your favorite book quotes?
Answer:
This is actually a hard question for me because I don’t usually remember the exact lines from books but here are some of my favorites.
Archangel series by Nalini Singh:
She hid her smile at his slip. "What do I call you? Husband? Mate? Boyfriend?"
Stopping with his hand on the doorknob, he shot her an inscrutable look. "You can call me 'Master'."
-Raphael and Elena
"You love me. Real or not real?"
I tell him, "Real."
Quotes why Cal is the clear choice.
"So if you can heal with your touch, why are you working here as like, Hagrid, or whatever?"
"Archer isn't hot anymore.... He tried to kill me, and his girlfriend is Satan."
"She was my assignment."
"From The Eye?"
"No, from the Boy Scouts. That Witch Dating badge just kept eluding me."
"Well, you must have at least three Total Douchebag badges by now, so that has to count for something."
"He ran his thumb over my lower lip, sending a flurry of sparks through me. "Good-bye, Sophie." -Cal"

I enjoyed reading Darkness Becomes Her, and I can't wait to read Tempest Rising as well as Sweet Venom! I think mythology should totally become a genre on its own haha, it has tons of potential :D

I almost picked that same quote from Mockingjay! Love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! Sophie is so full of snark, it's great.
ReplyDeleteThe Cait Files
I also love paranormal romances that have a great mythology. Just read Nightkeepers which has a Mayan mythology that I really enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogging.
Mythology fascinates me, but I haven't read a lot of mythology related fiction yet. It sounds like it would be fun and interesting. My friend, Brodi Ashton, is having her debut book released next year and it's based on Persephone. Her book is called Everneath. I'm excited to read it.
ReplyDeleteI freaking love you... Obviously. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy FF Post!
Isn't she? Love her!
ReplyDeleteLooking up that book! I'm so in love with mythology!
ReplyDeleteThe feeling is mutual... obviously.
ReplyDeleteThe Mockingjay quote! Reading it sort of broke my heart/made me giddy all over again.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I have read much mythology paranormal.

ReplyDeleteHello there! I'm a brand new follower over from PJ's FF hop. I LOVE your blog layout, and well, you quoted The Hunger Games, which made me flail a little. I'm also getting more into mythology type stuff (really loving Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, which I know is really twisty and different, but hey!) I also love paranormal romance, dystopian, and sci-fi/fantasy!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping you'll stop by my blog if you get a chance. :)
