TBR Intervention:
Pabkins here! That's right fellow book hoarders its time we all took a good hard flipping look at our shelves and realized there are many books there that have lain in wait much too long! As readers we are always on the look out for that mesmerizing next new book that we have to get our grubby hands on. Sometimes I buy so many books at once that I forget what I've already bought. The man put me on a book buying ban for the remainder of the year because I spent close to past the triple digits at the Borders book closeout sales. That's right this is my confession...I lost my ever loving book buying mind. This meme challenge is going to help me get on track with some books that I've had even before I assent crazy buying all those hundreds more!
Don't forget to go check out everyone else's oldy but goodies that they've decided to read this week!
Pabkins Pick:
Rie’s Pick:

Rie and Pabkins Essentially, we are two sides of the same coin. We both love to read but have tastes that range to such opposite ends of the Fiction spectrum! Rie our blonde haired smoothie perhaps is the light and lovey side of us, Pabkins our chocolate haired one brings us the darker delights.
Oh, I know how you feel! I have run out of space for my TBR pile and have recently started putting new books I've bought on the floor! I've tried buying bans but they never seem to work out...but I might join you on a ban come November...good luck to you both!

Aww! Both books looks great to me! I haven't read those books yet, but I've heard good things about them. I hope this meme would be able to help us manage our pile better, especially those books that are gathering dust on the our shelves! Good luck to all of us! Thank you both for joining the TBRIC today =) Happy weekend!

My TBRIC
Eh? He banned you? Awww....
ReplyDeleteWell, as April said this meme will hopefully help us get through that stubborn pile!
So...is the book buying ban working? I've tried a self-instituted one, and it failed miserably -- due to Half-Price Books and Borders Closeouts.
ReplyDeleteReally interested in White Cat, but I wasn't a fan of Black's Modern Faerie Tales, so I've never picked it up. And If I Stay is one of those that I've wondered about, but also just never picked up. This TBR challenge might be good for getting books off our shelves, but it's not going to do anything for my Goodreads TBR... lol
My TBR pile is swallowing me as well! If I Stay is one of those books in my pile too. I hope you enjoy these two books! Sorry about the book buying ban, but past the triple digits? Whoa! I hope you can get to all the books soon. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can't put off a ban - at least I couldn't *shamed face* But hey I bought enough books that it should last me all through next year - course my ban is only til the end of the year haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of myself I really did start reading it last night!
ReplyDeleteOh it's definitely going to help me get through the pile a little bit - but I don't think it will ultimately help me get through them all - I'd have to like take two years off of work to do that haha.
ReplyDeleteThe ban is definitely working - I haven't purchased a book in several weeks. That doesn't mean that I didn't beg him to buy me Anna Dressed in Blood haha. The ban happened BECAUSE of my spree at the Borders closeouts....
ReplyDeleteCourse I do have a measly little $50 amazon credit that I'm allowed to use but thats all i'm allowed til the end of the year so I'm being stingy with it. Normally that is what I would spend each week in books so can you imagine being told thats all you get til the end of the flipping year!!!??
Yeah this meme is only making my "to get a copy" list to grow haha cause it makes me see books that I didn't notice or acquire before. *DOH*
haha no no - not quite past the triple digit but probably just say uhh...ten dollars or so away from it. Hence I'm totally understanding why I was put on time out. I did lose my mind and I realize that now. *Bad pabkins Bad girl* But sometimes being bad is OH SOO GOOD!!
ReplyDeleteHolly Black is great but haven't read White Cat. If I Stay is Still on my TBR. Best of luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI'm here from a comment Rie left on my blog, Born Bookish. I just wanted to say thanks for checking out my blog! And now I'm your newest follower =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! I'm glad we found one another!
ReplyDeleteSeems that many people have If I Stay remaining on their TBR! Hopefully we can all get through that long list soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved White Cat by Holly Black. I hope you will too. I haven't read If I Stay but it does look good. Just stopping by to peek at what you decided to read. Can't wait to hear what you have to say.
ReplyDeleteKristin @ Better Read Than Dead
loved white cat!
ReplyDeleteif i stay is on my tbr pile too.
I am liking it so far too - but I've barely had time to read the past few days since I'm on call right now. Had like 3 hours of sleep night before last it was insane!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm liking it so far. I wish I wasn't on call for work right now I bet I'd already be done by now!
ReplyDeleteBoth books are new to me, hope you girls manage to take them down from TBR and I'll be waiting for your review on If I stay cause so many peaple liked it. Happy Reading and new follower!
