Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
I’m Rie, you can find out more about me over on my “About” page, but I’m a graduate student majoring in history. The end goal is to become a professor, but I would really love to do some research work along the way. I’m taking the summer off from uni, but I’m loving my internship.
I’ve been married for a little over 2 years, to one of the best men I’ve ever known although he is completely non-bookie. I'm also completely in love with my furbaby Chloe.
My primary passion (other than books of course) is technology! I’m obsessed with graphic design, various gadgetry, and wasting vast amounts of time on social media mainly twitter (@missiontoread).
I began Mission to Read on Dec. 24th, 2010, mainly in response to my need to converse about books after moving 5 hours away from my family. From a very early age me and my sister were taught a love of reading from my Mom and many hours were spent fighting, stealing, and conversing about books and I missed that a ton when I moved to TX.
What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?
I’m currently reading Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep and I have to say it’s probably one of the best books I’ve read recently, but debut authors have been impressive this year. Hemlock by Kathleen Hemlock and Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins are two of the best books I’ve read this year.
What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
My favorite feature would have to be Great Designs, where the spotlight is on bloggers that have taken the initiative to learn more about graphic design in order to make their own blogs better.
What is your favorite part about the book blogging community? Is there anything that you would like to see change in the coming years?
I love the book blogging community and it’s one of the main reasons I continue blogging when the blog becomes overwhelming. I adore the fact that I can jump on twitter and talk to my blogging buddies about anything whether it be obsessing over authors or really anything.
The one thing I would love to see changed is the drama. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but over all this community is one of my favorites!
Have your reading tastes changed since you started blogging? How?
I used to read more historical fiction, but one thing that has changed more recently is that when I take a blogging hiatus I read very eclectically. I really never read non-fiction, but I’m starting to enjoy hard-hitting journalism type books.

Rie I'm a wife, student, and a dog-lover who reads when I should be folding laundry (bane of my existance), I write (rarely as academic papers consume my life), and love getting wrapped up in fiction.
