Once a month I will be hosting a new feature Little Known Blogs, in order to give the spotlight to blogs that I love that need need deserve a little more attention. In order to be considered for this feature you must have less than 200 followers and have great content. If you’d like to be considered for this feature please fill out the form!.

This month’s feature:

Why did you start your blog?

I started as a way to get more involved in the blogging community and contribute my own thoughts and ideas. I loved reading reviews and figured that I'd start doing my own!

What is your favorite part of blogging?

I still love reading other people's blogs more than writing my own posts, sad but true! I love the community feel of blogging and how everyone pitches in to help out an author or other blogger. The support I've seen is incredible. As far as blogging specifically - I like adding my own spin on things and seeing how it connects to readers.
What book is your current obsession?

The Song of Fire and Ice series by George R.R. Martin is consuming my days and nights! I've been unable to do much of anything else until whatever book I'm reading is done!

What do you when you aren't blogging or reading?

Drinking wine! I love wine and food. I do wine reviews on my blog and occasionally give a little tid-bit about what I ate with it and what book is the most similar to it. Since I can't drink ALL the time, I love to spend time with my nephew and be outside while it's still nice out. I love being with my husband and we do a lot of things together around Pittsburgh - food markets, movies, plays, etc.

Some favorite posts at Reading Under the Influence

My review of The Forest of Hands and Teeth - LOVED the book and how different it was compared to other dystopian novels on a character level.

This is my most recent wine review for those who are interested: Basel Cellars 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Daughter of the Forest (actually the whole series) is one of my favorite books and Juliet Marillier is one of my favorite authors!

  3. I tried The Song of Fire and Ice series, but struggled to get into it. That is why I'm grateful to HBO for producing it as a show. LOL

Nice to meet a fellow wine and book lover!

  4. Thank you so much for having me Rie! I feel honored.

Missie Bee I'm struggling right now and might take a break. It's just such a heavy series with so many intricate plots. I like it, but sometimes want a more easily-digested book. I'm glad to meet you too!

  6. I'll have to look into that. Is it already a series or is it premiering soon?
