This week's question:
What do I do when I are not reading?
Answer:
This summer I’m taking a break from school (read: university) and interning. And while the internship is a great opportunity it is completely boring. So I can’t wait for August and school resumes.
I’m also married to a very yummy man that makes my heart stop. Yes, I’m gushing a bit.
Then there is always hiking with Miss Chlo at some of the beautiful hiking trails we have around here. I haven’t done this in the past month, because we haven’t gotten under 100 in so long.
I volunteer with some local organizations. I usually actively campaign, but I haven’t had a chance to lately.
When I have spare time I’m either on twitter, playing the PS3, or trying to learn all about graphic design that I can.
This week's question is:
How/Where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?
Answer:
I might get some hate on this answer, but the most likely place for me to get books is Amazon. I’ve had amazon prime for the past year and free shipping and cheap books is always a win. I freaking DETEST that they bought Book Depository though.
I’m a frequent library patron as well. Books can get expensive and my local library is awesome.
Paperbackswap and me don’t really get along anymore. It’s too needy with it’s constant emails, but I might use it from time to time. I’d rather trade books with my readers and I might be putting up a trade page soon.
This week’s question:
Book Blogger Appreciation: Which book blogs have inspired you or made a difference in your blogging experience?
Answer:
So many blogs have inspired me, given me topics for future posts, helped me when I couldn’t figure something out, spread the word about my blog I can’t possibly mention or thank each one of them here so I’ll just mention a few, but if you aren’t mentioned it doesn’t mean I don’t love you or appreciate everything you do.
Rachel from Parajunkee: When I got featured on Follow Friday I doubled readership overnight. Many of those that followed me after that are still commenting, reading, and active on the blog. She’s helped me with her BB101 posts and has been an inspiration more times than I can count. I love her!
My twitter peeps: I’ve been ignoring them for awhile due to the shininess of G+, but @bookbrunette, @basicallybooks, @Isabooksoulmate, @Booksdevoured, @violethourBR, and more have been there for me when I’m having a bad bloggery day or a great one. They consistently make me laugh and laughter is the best medicine for all ails.
Plus @bookbrunette sent me Divergent which is one of the best books of this year. They are pretty all the way around awesome as well. There are a couple of random non-book bloggery twitter peeps that I love as well.
Actually pretty much if you talk to me on twitter I love you.
Actually pretty much if you talk to me on twitter I love you.
Pretty much if you are reading this it’s likely that you’ve helped me in one way or another, so I can’t really name each of you, but I love every single one of you. Even the lurkers.
Is that enough gooeyness for one night?

I know all about boring internships. School was alwaus much more fun than interning to me. And, I get a lot of books from Amazon too. They're cheap and I get free GC, so might as well. And it's a great place to find out of print books that are no longer sold in the regular retail stores. New follower. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I am so glad to have you as my friend on twitter! I love having such a great book community to talk to! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteWhat types of things do you campaign about? It sounds like you have a really interesting life outside of books. I feel like my life is boring, but it's because I choose it to be that way, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm a child advocate, so anything that has to do with children's rights I'm usually right there doing all I can. Calling, writing letters to congressmen, helping to organize supporters, etc.
ReplyDeleteI also campaign to get people I adore elected. I've worked on campaigns for Obama, Governor Brad Henry, and many people that make up the Oklahoman state government.
In Texas I haven't had a chance to really get involved as much and most of the people to be elected are batshit crazy like Rick Perry.
(Yes, I did just get political, but what else are you going to call a guy that wants to run for president after saying Texas would be better off as it's own nation. Seriously!)
Hopping through. I'm pretty addicted to Twitter. It's hard not to be. Cool that you hike. I'm hoping to do more of that when I move to California.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I'm not much of a twitter person even though it is all the rage.
ReplyDeleteHi Rie! New follower from Follow Friday! So nice of you to give props to Rachel at PJV. I also find her blog to be a wonderful resource!
ReplyDeleteWTG for volunteering! New follower!
ReplyDeleteAww, that's awesome! :) I'm glad that you love the person that you married like you do. I wish that someday, I could be that lucky! Taking a break from school sounds like a good idea -- I'm taking extra classes in summer school right now! Lame, right? x)
ReplyDeleteHope you have an awesome weekend! :)
