Cover Review:
I don’t know why I dislike these covers so much. I simply do. Although, I really like the color composition on this one.

Opinion:

When I finished This Side of the Grave I immediately downloaded the next from Overdrive. I read a couple of reviews on Goodreads that weren’t as favorable as usual for this series so I was a bit hesitant. I found that I actually liked the villain in this one better than I have for about 3 books. The only thing that disappointed me was there was no satisfying end.

Cat and Bones relationship, one of the main sources of the bad reviews I found, is just typical. After a time of being married there is an attachment type of love that is deeper and more comfortable, but way less “OMG! I must strip your clothes off now!” So I thought it was actually very realistic and comfortable.

I loved Tyler, the homosexual medium. He was over the top in such a fabulous way as to be a constant source of humor. That quote above is just one of the many times in which he made me blush. I can totally see him with Ian, so I kinda hope they will end up together.

I was annoyed at the subplots not being wrapped up either. The main storyline ended in an anti-climatic way and the subplots just never got any closure. I feel as though she is doing this in order to draw another book out of the series, but I’d rather it would end on a high note than to be dragged out to a point where it becomes boring.

Side note: There was no appearance of Vlad! This broke my heart slightly. I really need to get started on his series. I bet it’s fab!

Top Ten (7) Tuesday: 24 Hour Life Swap

I’m gonna go into this top 10 with two premises (1) I can sleep with anyone I want and it’s not cheating on my hubs or slutty. (2) I am invincible. I cannot in anyway be killed or have injuries sustaining after the 24 hours is up.

Also, I totally couldn’t come up with more than 7 people I’d like to swap lives or go into their world for a day. So much scary drama!

Mainly I want to go into this world as me and punch Cole in the face. I’ve always wondered what it felt like to break someone’s nose and he is a prime candidate for the service.

I would like to die and see if and how my death would affect others. I would like to be able to go inside other’s heads and see how I affect them. Morbid much, but I’d love to see if I am helping people or harming them.

I would love to run with this pack and maybe get a bit of mothering love from the receptionist (ugh I cannot remember name even though she’s one of my favorite characters!). Play in the snow and be in the middle of nowhere. Yep, this sounds like heaven!

I so don’t want to be Gin. That is one complicated girl, but I would love to sit down and eat some great barbeque while hanging out with her.

I would adore being able to run as a coyote and getting cozy with one Mr. Wolf – Sam. I totally love both male characters, but Sam is more my speed. I would have to investigate more about the fae while I was there.

I would love to go hiking with Tucker. Swing across a running river. Go for a run beside Miss Chlo (my dog). Basically everything I get to do if I convince the hubs to move to Colorado. I love the outdoors and hiking with Tucker, sweet knowledgeable Tucker, would be amazing!

Cat’s world post marriage. I could shag Bones or Vlad, drink a bit of blood, and end the day playing with a bit of fire.
